PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper structure of a vehicle in which a large space need not be ensured on a back side of a bumper. SOLUTION: Magnetic powder 16 is filled in a storage space having a rectangular ring section formed by outer panels 11 and 12 and inner panels 13 and 14 of a bumper reinforce 10. An electromagnetic coil 21 is provided in an inner space of an inner wall formed by the inner panels spirally along the inner wall. Rigidity of the bumper reinforce 10 is increased by applying the voltage to the electromagnetic coil 21 to magnetize the magnetic powder 16. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
