PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an engine for a manual transmission vehicle for exerting good driveability and preventing engine racing, when a driver returns an accelerator pedal and a fuel injection stop condition is satisfied. SOLUTION: The control device of an engine for a manual transmission vehicle comprises: a fuel stop condition determining means (S1) determining whether or not the fuel injection stop condition is satisfied based on an accelerator pedal depression amount APO; an elapsed time measuring means (S2, S7) measuring a time elapsed from a time where the condition is satisfied, if the fuel stop condition is satisfied; and a fuel stop means (S9) stopping fuel injection when a predetermined time has elapsed. The control device further comprises: an engine speed detecting means (S4); and torque limiting means (S5→S8→S7→S9) limiting engine torque based on change in engine speed even before the predetermined time has elapsed.
