PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform control for prevention of lane departure in the optimum way. SOLUTION: In this device for prevention of lane departure, superelevation of a driving passage is detected (step S3), and tendency of departure of the own vehicle from the driving lane is determined (step S4). Start timing for control for avoiding departure is set based on the superelevation of the driving passage, and in a case where the vehicle has tendency of departure from the driving lane, control for avoiding departure is started at above start timing for avoiding departure (steps S6-S9).
