PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer equipped with a roll which is of a simple structure; low-priced; mass-productive; fast to an external force; and highly reliable in terms of paper feed properties. SOLUTION: In the printer equipped with a paper feeder roll as a platen roll obtained by forcing a metal shaft with an irregularly worked outer shape into a cylindrical rubber tube with an irregular inside diameter so that the metal shaft can be fitted into the rubber tube, a specified amount of an adhesive is applied, at an equal interval, to the recessed part of a groove in the metal shaft and the metal shaft is integrated with the rubber tube.
