PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an A/D converter with a phase adjustment function reducing the number of components of an apparatus for use in ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. SOLUTION: A multiphase generator 41 generating a plurality of pulses with mutually different phases, a phase selector 42 selecting and outputting a single pulse according to a selection signal SEL for adjusting the phase out of the plurality of pulses output from the multiphase generator 41, an analog/digital converting circuit (A/D) 43 sampling at a timing of the pulse selected and output in the phase selector 42 and converting an analog signal into a digital signal are stored in a single chip. This converter can sample at the timing according to the selection signal SEL and convert the analog signal input from a wave receiving element into the digital signal so as to eliminate a variable delay element and a memory and reduce the number of components.
