Transimpedance amplifier system comprises input (IN) for supply of input current (IIN) and output (OUT) for providing output voltage (VOUT), dependent on input current. To input is coupled input amplifier (30), behind which is connected output amplifier (40), coupled to output.Input amplifier is adjustable current amplifier, while output amplifier is of transimpedance type. Typically transimpedanec amplifier also has adjustable amplification. Preferably current amplifier is of multistage type. INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for application of invented system to amplifying measuring current transmitted by photosensor.
