The safety railing for scaffold has at least two supports (10) between which extends a rigid cross bar (20), whereby the railing supports have a first section (12) in which they are fixed to the scaffold by a fastening means, and at least one second section (16) which is rotatable relative to the first and in which the railing bar is pivotably connected to the railing supports. The fastening means are component parts of the railing supports and are installed on the first section. An independent claim is included for a scaffold with a number of tubes, preferably vertical tubes upon which railing supports with a railing cross bar are installed.
