<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an image display is not suffucient which is caused by display variations or the like in the conventional EL display device. <P>SOLUTION: Pixels 16 composed of EL elements are arranged in a matrix manner over a display region 144. Video signals are applied to the pixels by the program current from a source driver circuit 14. Writing timing is controlled by gate drivers 12. A panel module is provided with a power supply module 3272. Electric power is supplied to the power supply module 3272 by the battery of a main body. The power supply module generates voltages for the gate driver circuits 12 and the source driver circuit 14. The power supply module is on-off controlled by the on-off signals of a controller 760.
