<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately manage the printing quality, operating performance, apparatus life, etc. of an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus 1, which is equipped with a detachable replacement unit 30 for storing a consumable article, performs image forming processing by using the consumable article.
