<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification system that can easily and accurately identify in which entry a symbol or the like entered by a user across a plurality of adjacent entries has been entered. <P>SOLUTION: In the identification system 100, a user enters a symbol in a predetermined entry field on an application form 36 with an electronic pen 10. Entry data on the symbol entered by the user are sent from the electronic pen 10 to an identification server 5 via a user terminal 25. The identification server 5 extracts coordinate data on every stroke from the acquired entry data. From the extracted coordinate data on every stroke, the identification server 5 further extracts coordinate data on one or more sample points forming the stroke.
