PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress voice noise in automatic exposure (AE) operation. SOLUTION: At the time of photographing a moving video involving recording, driving period of a stop mechanism 28 for adjusting exposure is once for 2VI (2 periods of a vertical sync signal VI) when setting is not altered. When voice noise due to driving of the stop mechanism is suppressed, setting of the driving period is altered by an AE adjusting button to once for 3VI or once for 4VI. Since the number of driving times per unit time is decreased as the driving period is prolonged, voice noise picked up by a microphone 43 is suppressed. When voice noise in AE operation is eliminated completely, a lock means is employed. When a lock button 8 is depressed, the stop mechanism 28 stops, while sustaining the stop diameter at that moment in time, as it is, and AE operation is performed by charge storage time control or/and gain control of an amplifier.
