PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contactless type potentiometer, capable of improving the defect of conventional non-contact potentiometers where their angles of detection are narrow and detecting positions of 360°of all angles. SOLUTION: The inductance, non-contact potentiometer is provided with both a rotor plate 10, rotated by an operating shaft 6 and a coil 11 facing the rotor plate 10 with a small gap, detects changes in the inductance of the coil 11 due to the rotation of the rotor plate 10, and extracts them as signals. Two detection means (a first detection means 8 and a second detection means 9), each constituted of the rotor plate 10 and the coil 11, are provided in the inside of the same casing. In this case, the two sets of detection means 8 and 9 are arranged in such a way as to have a phase difference of a prescribed angle (of, for example, 90°). As a result, positions of 360°of all angles can be detected, by computing the output of the two detection means 8 and 9 having the phase difference. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
