PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet takeout device capable of surely correcting the attitude of the paper sheet, and capable of stably taking out the paper sheet with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The takeout device 1 is provided with a placing base 2 for vertically placing a plurality of postal matters P, a backup plate 3 for energizing the postal matters P to the accommodating direction to be supplied to a takeout position, a downstream side floor belt 4 arranged near the takeout position in such a manner of being partially exposed from the placing base 2, an upstream side floor belt 7, a takeout roller, and two auxiliary rollers 16a and 16b. A difference between the protruding positions of the auxiliary rollers 16a and 16b pressed by the postal matters P supplied to the takeout position is detected, and the fall of the postal matters P is detected. Based on the detected result, moving speed of the floor belts 4 and 7 is controlled so as to correct the attitude of the postal matters P upright. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
