PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle unit capable of cleaning a collet inner surface in the replacement, by forming a structure for performing operation when replacing a tool, even in automatic operation and even in manual operation. SOLUTION: This spindle unit has a rotary main spindle rotatably held in a housing by arranging a collet inserting hole on one end side, a collet inserted into the collet inserting hole, a tool holder part rotatably installed on the front end of the housing on one end side of the rotary main spindle and fixing a tool by pushing in the collet in the radial direction, an automatic lock means of the rotary main spindle arranged on the rear end side of the housing, and a manual lock means of the rotary main spindle arranged on the rear end side of the housing oppositely to the automatic lock means of the rotary main spindle via the axis of a rotary shaft.
