PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending device of a metallic bar stock with which the uniform heat treatment of the metallic bar stock with a heating/cooling device is attained even in the case the spring-out of the metallic bar stock can occur when releasing the clamp part of a bending arm. SOLUTION: When a metallic tube 1 the nose of which is clamped with a clamp part 2A of the bending arm 2 and which is moved in the axial direction by a moving mechanism 5 is bent by the bending moment imparted from the bending arm 2 which is rotated about the center 2B of the rotation, the relative moving speed of the metallic tube 1 to the heating/cooling device 3 is maintained at a prescribed value when the clamp part 2A is released by instantaneously controlling the motion of the moving mechanism 6 of the heating/cooling device 3 with a controller 20 on the basis of the data from a stress detector 30 arranged between the rear end of the metallic tube 1 and the tail member 14 of the moving mechanism 5 even when such instantaneous action as the metallic tube 1 jumping out is performed when releasing the clamp part 2A by the generation of stress in the metallic tube 1 in the axial direction.
