SMALL DIAMETER TAPER THREAD PLUG, THREAD ROLLING ROLLER, TAPER TAP, TAPER THREAD RING GAUGE, AND TAPER THREAD PLUG GAUGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a prescribed tightness in a small diameter taper thread plug having a reference effective diameter d2less than 7.142 mm and also to obtain a satisfactory practical durability concerning a tap for cutting the thread hole. SOLUTION: Since the reference effective diameter is d2≈5.618 mm and the reference outside diameter is d≈6.175 mm, hydraulic components for example can be designed compactly compared with a conventional nominal size R1/16 (reference effective diameter d2≈7.142 mm, reference outside diameter d≈7.723 mm). In addition, the diameter is not so small as a nominal size R1/32 (reference effective diameter d2≈4.094 mm, reference outside diameter d≈4.548 mm); hence, the life of the tap for cutting the thread hole is prolonged, making a satisfactory practical durability available. Further, the cone angle of the taper male screw 14 is about 4°10' which is larger compared with a conventional cone angle (about 3°35'); therefore, a superb tightness is obtained against oil hydraulics, oil leak is suppressed.
