PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high durable electrophotographic photoreceptor which can decrease contamination on a base and prevent a residual potential during repeated use and which can decrease dielectric breakdown on charging by a contact charging member or a proximity charging member, and to enable output of a high-quality halftone image. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least a conductive layer, a charge blocking layer and a photosensitive layer laminated in this order on a conductive supporting body, the photosensitive layer contains the following titanyl phthalocyanine crystal. The crystal shows, as diffraction peaks of Bragg angle 2θ(±0.2°) for CuKαline (at 1.542Åwavelength), the maximum diffraction peak at least at 27.2°, and further, main peaks at 9.4°, 9.6°and 24.0°, a diffraction peak at 7.3°as the smallest angle side, no peak between the peaks at 7.3°and at 9.4°, and a peak at 26.3°(shown by an arrow in the figure), and the crystal has≤0.25μm average size of primary particles.
