PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently form a color proof obtained by adding information for managing proofing work to an image to be proofed and to allow a proofing operator to smoothly carry out the proofing work by referencing the proofing work management information contained in the color proof.

SOLUTION: When an output operator operates to input an additional image including the proofing work management information to an image based on printing image data displayed on a display section 23 by using an input operation section 24, an additional image data generating section 25 generates additional image data corresponding to the input operation, and then an image data merging section 26 generates image data for DCP (digital color proof) by merging the additional image data with the printing image data outputted from a screen operation section 22. An output control section 27 sends the image data for DCP to a color laser printer 3 and the color laser printer 3 forms the DCP obtained by adding the proofing work management information to the image to be proofed, by outputting the image based on the image data for DCP.
