<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that noise is likely to remain on the edge of an image, though the capacity of a memory can be reduced, or that quantization error remains like noise, even though noise is reduced, when a conventional coding and decoding device by the DPCM method and a three-dimensional NR circuit are combined. <P>SOLUTION: When the necessary code amount of a differential signal value from a differential means of the coding device adapts to a predetermined pattern, coding and decoding can be performed without quantization error. Even when it does not adapt to the predetermined pattern, coding and decoding can be performed with quantization error of the level nearly equal to that caused by the coding and decoding device of the conventional DPCM method. Accordingly, quantization error can be restrained in comparison to the coding and decoding device of the conventional method while reducing the coding amount. In consequence, remaining noise can be restrained while reducing the capacity of the memory even when the coding and decoding device is combined with the three-dimensional NR circuit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
