<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasmid usable in the bacteria belonging to the genus Sphingobium or the genus Sphingomonas having strong environmental pollutant-decomposing ability, which plasmid is a non transmissional plasmid essentially possessed in the bacteria, having small plasmid-size, highly stable in the host and easily transducible in various bacterial groups. <P>SOLUTION: The plasmid having small size of about 10 Kb, in Sphingobiumamiensis JCM11777 (Japan Collection of Microorganisms), stably held and usable as a useful means for gene recombination in bacteria belonging to the genus Sphingobium, the genus Sphingomonas, or the like, having environmental pollutant-decomposing ability is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
