<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a modulation efficiency without increasing electric power required for a phase modulation by applying a reciprocating modulation to light rays resonating in an optical resonator with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The optical frequency COM generator oscillates a modulation signal having a prescribed frequency, is composed of an incident side reflection film 14 and an exit side reflection film 15 parallel to each other, and resonates light rays made incident via the incident side reflection film 14 by transmitting the light rays in a going or returning direction, modulates the phase of the resonating light according to the supplied modulation signal by a modulating means disposed between the incident side reflection film 14 and the exit side reflection film 15, generates a side band having the frequency of the incident light as a center at an interval of the frequency of the modulation signal to modulate respective phases of the light rays transmitted toward the going direction or the returning direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
