PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device in which high luminance is obtained with low power consumption by improving extraction efficiency. SOLUTION: This light-emitting device comprises: an insulating film; a plurality of first electrodes being in contact with the insulating film and formed on the insulating film to be in parallel; an electroluminescent layer formed over the plurality of first electrodes; and a plurality of second electrodes intersecting with the plurality of first electrodes and formed over the electroluminescent layer in parallel. The device is characterized in that the insulating film contains nitrogen and silicon, and that the first electrodes contain a conductive transparent oxide material and silicon oxide.
