PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modulation apparatus and a modulating method that need not use huge reference tables, can be applied even to a conventional analog PLL modulation scheme, need not control timings with higher accuracy, can correct phase error with a high accuracy and that can be applied, even to communication systems using no amplitude modulations. SOLUTION: A signal generating part 101 generates a baseband phase signal. A phase error compensating part 102 multiplies the frequency change amount in a predetermined period or a phase change amount, between adjacent data of the baseband phase signal by a parameter specific to a device, to determine phase error, and then corrects the determined phase error for the baseband phase signal. A storage part 103 stores parameters and calculation formula. A modulation part 105 uses the baseband phase signal to modulate a frequency converted signal from a frequency conversion part 104, thereby producing a modulated signal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
