PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jig for supporting a workpiece having a miscellaneous shape, which can stably support the workpiece even if an impact is applied on the jig when the workpiece is mounted on the jig or even when a heavy workpiece is mounted on the jig, and can improve its durability. SOLUTION: A tapered surface 4t is formed on the inside surface of a tubular member 4 buried in a base 2. A retainer 6 for holding steel balls 5 is arranged in the tube of the tubular member 4 so as to vertically move. At the same time, a pin 3 is inserted into the inside of the retainer 6. In addition, the upper surface of the retainer 6 is pushed downward by means of a push spring 7 and the lower surface of the retainer 6 is supported by a stopper plate 8. The stopper plate 8 can be operated so as to move upward and downward. Further, a large number of recessed grooves 11 are formed on the outside surface of the pin 3. Therefore, when the stopper plate 8 is lowered, the retainer 6 also is lowered, and then the steel balls 5 are engaged with the recessed grooves 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
