PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small dielectric antenna which combines a TEM mode of a parallel two-wire line with a hybrid dipole mode (surface wave mode) of a dielectric medium, efficiently convert energy of the TEM mode to the hybrid dipole mode, and is excellent in manufacturing nature and operability. SOLUTION: In the dielectric antenna 7 which comprises a dielectric line 1 which are composed of the parallel two-wire line with line diameter d, line length L, and line spacing S, a first medium 3a of specific inductive capacityε1 overlying the parallel two-wire line, and a second medium 3b of specific inductive capacityε2 overlying the first medium, having such relations asε1/ε2<1.0, a center of the line spacing is shifted from a geometric center of a cross-section of the same medium in at least a part of longitudinal direction of the first medium. Otherwise, in the dielectric antenna which is comprises the dielectric line which are composed of the parallel two-wire line, a second medium of specific inductive capacityε2 located outside of the parallel two-wire line, or further a first medium of specific inductive capacity ofε1 further covered by the second medium, the parallel two-wire line is installed outside near of the second medium.
