PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device 10 to be used in a rotating machine. SOLUTION: The sealing device 10 to be used in the rotating machine comprises a first element 16 and a second element 18 forming an annular part 15, a high pressure region 12 and a low pressure region 14 provided in the annular part 15, and a liquid seal provided between the first element 16 and the second element 18, between the high pressure region 12 and the low pressure region 14, for reducing the leakage of gas from the high pressure region 12 to the low pressure region 14.
