A mechanism and method of delivering streaming content with a minimal or only a single line of code in the client's website is provided. The code, i.e., "LaunchCode," enables users to deliver their webcasts directly from their site-the webcast displays in a "new" window, so that viewers do not have to leave the client's site. LaunchCode handles the proper delivery of content throughout the "webcast lifecycle" such that the client does not need to make any modification to their site once the code is in place. Implementation of this system minimizes the webcast management responsibilities of a client.
