A motorized conveyor roller comprising a central hollow drum (1) housing an internal motor (62) adapted for barring access to the end of the conveyor roller drum and improving safety. The motor (62) is supported on stationary shafts (80, 82) and includes rotor (14) for driving pinion (93) which rotates the drum (1) via a gearing assembly. At least one of the stationary shafts include a coaxially-mounted cylindrical stationary end cover (54, 55).
