The liquid evaporation testing apparatus described in the parent Specification is provided with a double-walled evaporation chamber 6 evacuated between the walls. This allows the temperature of the air space outside chamber 6 to vary by 20‹ to 30‹ C. from that inside the chamber without invalidating the measurements. Chamber 6 may also be provided with an inner heat-reflecting coating.
