<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas, at a zeolite adsorption site of which HC (hydrocarbon) is trapped and made to stay until the catalyst reaches a combustible high-temperature state and by which exhaust gas can be cleaned by burning the trapped HC by supplying the sufficient amount of oxygen. <P>SOLUTION: This catalyst is used mainly for cleaning the exhaust gas to be discharged from an internal-combustion engine and is constituted so that an HC adsorbing material layer based on Ag-deposited zeolite is formed in the innermost layer of this catalyst, a combustion catalyst layer containing a catalytic component of at least one noble metal of palladium, platinum, and rhodium, and an oxygen storing/discharging material is formed in the outermost layer of this catalyst, and an oxygen storing/discharging material-single layer is formed between the HC adsorbing material layer and the combustion catalyst layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
