PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a magnetic head in which a slider and a suspension can be joined on the basis of a pattern of ABS deciding a floating property without requiring special working for the slider and the suspension. SOLUTION: In this method of manufacturing a magnetic head, the slider on which an ABS (Air Bearing Surface) is formed on the suspension is attached. After the surface on which the ABS of the slider is formed is photographed, the ABS is discriminated from an incision region formed in this ABS by using the photographed picture. Then the reference as an attachment guide of the suspension is calculated and the slider for the suspension is attached on the basis of the reference. Hence positive pressure and negative pressure can be generated in the ABS in a good balance around the suspension, and floating attitude and an electric property can be stabilized.
