PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive force control device for a vehicle securely performing the engagement or semi-engagement of a lockup clutch when a vehicle is in a driven state. SOLUTION: This drive force control device for the vehicle comprises: engine output control parts 52 and 53 controlling the output of an engine 20; and a drive force reducing means 230 installed between the lockup clutch 31 installed between the engine and drive wheels and the drive wheels, and reducing a drive force transmitted to the drive wheels. When the vehicle is in the driven state or the vehicle is in a transient state from a driving state to the driven state and the lockup clutch is engaged or semi-engaged, the engine output control part controls the engine so that its output can be increased more than a case where the lockup clutch is not engaged or semi-engaged, and the drive force reducing means is operated to reduce the drive force transmitted to the drive wheels.
