PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for joining a strand constituting a woven fabric, enabling the strand to be repaired after weaving the strand-broken fabric while keeping the surface of the woven fabric smooth. SOLUTION: The method comprises the following practice: two cut end sides 2a and 2b of the broken strand 4 are drawn out respectively, and torn nearly at the center in the cross direction along the longitudinal direction of the strand 4 respectively, and each one-side half of the two cut end sides thus torn is cut off, wherein the two one-side halves are symmetric to each other based on the longitudinal direction of the strand, and the resultant strand is knitted in in such a condition that both of the torn faces 6a and 6b are butted on each other and returned into the texture of the woven fabric.
