PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire molding machine equipped with a rotating direction detection device which detects the rotating direction of a take-up drum around which a belt with a reinforcing cord inclined longitudinally is wound in a specified winding direction and can confirm the sticking direction of the belt. SOLUTION: In this tire molding machine, a pair of take-up drums, one for forward rotary feeding and the other for reverse rotary feeding, around which the belt is wound in the specified winding direction, are arranged and have each the rotating direction detection device 7 for detecting the rotating direction of the take-up drum during feeding the belt. In addition, the rotating direction detection device 7 comprises the following components: a rotating shaft 5 with a detection part 4 formed on the outer peripheral surface 3; a pair of non-contact proximity sensors A and B which detect the approach/separation distance of the detection part 4 arranged in the rotating direction of the rotating shaft 5 from the latter; and a rotating direction distinguishing means 6 which compares an actual signal pattern originating from the proximity sensors A and B with a previously stored detection order pattern of the detection part 4 by the paired proximity sensors A and B and distinguishes the rotating direction of the rotating shaft 5.
