PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protector having a clarified indicator defining optimal disposition position of a bag. SOLUTION: The occupant protector 10 has the bag 12 which is disposed on the upper side of a short pan 8 and is expandable so as to press the front part of a seat cushion from a lower side, and a gas generator 14 to expand the bag 12. The bag 12 extends to the right and left width direction of the seat pan 8, and the right and left both end parts are connected to the short pan 8. The bag 12 is disposed so that an amount of sinking of the occupant's waist to the seat cushion is not more than 60 mm when the bag 12 is expanded at the time of vehicular front collision and the occupant's waist is sunk to the seat cushion in the state where the front part of the seat cushion is pressed from the lower side.
