[PROBLEMS] To provide: a novel quinazoline derivative useful as an intermediate for medicines, especially a therapeutic and preventive agent fo r cancers; and an industrially useful process for producing the derivative. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The novel quinazoline derivative is a quinazoli ne derivative represented by the following general formula (I): (wherein the symbols are the same as defined in the description), a salt of the derivativ e, or a hydrate or solvate of the derivative or salt. The process yields a nove l quinazoline derivative from any of these compounds.
