<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head device having a detection function as a mechanism for detecting a laser output capable of reducing component costs without any losses of a laser beam applied to an optical disk, and without needing so high accuracy for assembling components. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a semiconductor laser 11 for outputting a laser beam having an elliptical beam shape, a collimator lens 12 for changing the laser beam into parallel beams, two strip-shaped pieces 13A and 13B formed into a curved surface in which one surface is a reflection surface and this reflection surface has a curvature in a longitudinal direction, a reflector 13 arranged so as to array the strip-shaped pieces 13A and 13B in the long axis direction of an elliptical luminous flux sandwiching the optical axis of the laser beam, and an optical sensor 14 equipped with a condenser lens for detecting the intensity of light reflected from the two strip-shaped pieces 13A and 13B of the reflector 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
