<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water supply type hot water supply apparatus allowing installation of the hot water supply apparatus even in a small site by configuring the hot water supply apparatus such that the hot water supply apparatus is connected to a hot water storage tank having a long sideways shape. <P>SOLUTION: This hot water storage type hot water supply apparatus has: a tank unit 10; a heat pump unit 20 heating water taken-in from a tank lower part and sending it to a tank upper part; a supplying hot water supply means 50 leading stored supplying hot water from the tank unit 10, controlling it to a hot water supply temperature, and supplying it to a hot water supply position; and a supplying water supply means supplying water to the tank lower part. In the tank unit 10, a build is formed in the long sideways shape. A compression check valve 42 and an air relief valve 52 necessary for a hot water storage function of the tank unit 10 are provided in at least one of the supplying hot water supply means 50 and the supplying water supply means 40, and are connected such that the tank unit 10 is installed separately from the heat pump unit 20, the supplying hot water supply means 50 and the supplying water supply means 40.
