<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stored article retrieving device whereby circumstances that communication with a reader-writer cannot be normally performed by electromagnetic wave disturbance by metal can be avoided when a stored article is stored on a metallic shelf. <P>SOLUTION: This stored article retrieving device 300 is provided with the metallic shelf 72 (a storage means), a plurality of booklet-shaped binders A to E (stored articles), a loop antenna 9 for transmitting a carrier wave from the reader-writer 100, the reader-writer 100, and a computer 50. The loop antenna 9 is connected by a cable 73 and is arranged on an external part of the reader-writer 100. The reader-writer 100 and the antenna 9 may be integrated, and may be arranged near the binder.
