<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for screen lock/unlock in which third persons cannot easily perform illegal action in a personal computer provided with a screen lock function. <P>SOLUTION: The screen lock/unlock system for a personal computer has an IC card, an IC card reader/writer and the personal computer. The personal computer has a random number generation means, a comparison data generation means for generating comparison data based on the random number, a comparison data registration means for writing the comparison data into a storage means of the IC card, a means for storing the generated comparison data, a screen lock means for locking the screen when the IC card is removed from the IC card reader/writer, a means for reading the comparison data of the IC card when the IC card is reinserted into the IC card reader/writer after being locked, a comparison means for comparing the read comparison data with data that are prestored in the personal computer, and a screen unlock means for unlocking if the comparison is successful. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
