<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To jet a very small quantity of liquid as a liquid block. <P>SOLUTION: A high-pressure fluid is introduced from a high-pressure tank 16 to a pressure introduction chamber 28. A valve element 24 is held in a position for blocking up an inflow port 30 as an inlet of a valve chamber 26 adjacent to the high-pressure introduction chamber 28. When an electromagnet 52 is turned off, the valve element 24 is pushed out by the pressure of the pressure introduction chamber 28 and moved until the abutting surface 44 abuts on the peripheral edge of a nozzle 20. Meanwhile, the liquid is jetted out of the nozzle 20 from the high-pressure introduction chamber 28 through the valve chamber 26. In returning the valve element 24 to the home position, a solenoid valve 14 is closed and returned by the energizing force of a coiled spring 50.
