<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data transfer device and an image data transfer method for efficiently transferring image data picked up by a plurality of cameras. <P>SOLUTION: The image data transfer device 9 is provided with a plurality of cameras 11, a capture board 21, a CPU board 25, and a bus 23. The bus 23 connects the capture board 21 with the CPU board 25. The capture board 21 includes memories 33 and a mediation part 31. The memories 33 are provided corresponding to the plurality of cameras 11, and store each image data acquired from respective cameras 11. The mediation part 31 transfers the image data stored in the memory 33 in which the stored image data reaches a prescribed line numbers of data amount among the memories 33, to the bus 23.
