<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a UIM adapter in which UIM is prevented from falling out or being abused during connection with the other device through a USB connector. <P>SOLUTION: The UIM adapter 1 attachably/detachably mounts UIM 2 equipped with a contact interface specified by ISO7816-2 and ISO7816-3 or a non-contact interface specified by ISO7816-2 and ISO7816-3 and ISO14443, and the adapter has a USB connector 20. A UIM insertion port 15 is installed on a USB connector 20-side. When the USB connector is connected to a USB socket of the other device, UIM2 is prevented from falling out.
