<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal array type (IPS) liquid crystal display element and its manufacturing method that can improve an aperture rate by removing a shield line arranged outside a data line by arranging a pixel electrode the farthest away from a pixel electrode and then widening a pixel area up to an area adjacent to the data line. <P>SOLUTION: The horizontal array type (IPS) liquid crystal display element includes 1st and 2nd substrates, gate lines and data lines which are longitudinally and laterally arrayed on the 1st substrate to define pixels, switching elements which are formed in intersection areas between the gate lines and data lines, a common line which is formed in the centers of the pixels in parallel to the data lines, a pixel electrode line which overlaps with the common line to form a storage capacitor, a plurality of common electrodes which are lead out of the common line, pixel electrodes which are arranged successively to the common electrodes to produce horizontal fields in the pixels with the common electrodes, and a liquid crystal layer which is formed between the 1st substrate and 2nd substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
