PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing method capable of easily polishing a cutting blade having a curved part having an edge of an acute angle on both ends of a straight line part having an edge of an acute angle, and a cutting blade having a straight line part having an edge of an acute angle on both ends of the curved part having an edge of an acute angle, for cutting an image recording material having an image recording layer on a long size plastic film support, in a sheet having the specific length, by simultaneously rounding a corner part. SOLUTION: This grinding method of the cutting blade has an upper blade 421 and a lower blade 422 used for a sheet cutter for manufacturing a sheet-like photosensitive material, by simultaneously rounding the corner part, by cutting the image recording material having the image recording layer on the long size plastic film support 210 with every predetermined length. The grinding method of the cutting blade is characterized in that at least one of the upper blade and the lower blade has an edge angle of 20 to 40°, and the cutting blade is ground by moving while contacting along a ridge surface of the cutting blade, in a state of axially rotating a truncated cone-shaped grinding wheel having the same angle as the edge angle.
