PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a lubricating oil from mixing into a fuel oil along the sliding face of a plunger by discharging the lubricating oil having entered a tappet chamber to the outside of the tappet chamber. SOLUTION: In the fuel injection pump 1, parts of a driving system in a cam chamber 13 are lubricated by the lubricating oil of an engine. In a pump housing 2, an interconnection path 20 is provided so as to allow the tappet chamber 15 to communicate with a gear case 9 provided between the engine and the fuel injection pump, and an interconnection path 12c is provided so as to allow an inside space 12b of a tappet 12 to communicate with the interconnection path 20.
