PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing apparatus for a sluice for safely lowering a door body in emergency even during service interruption. SOLUTION: This opening/closing apparatus for the sluice is provided with the door body for opening/closing the sluice; a chain connected to the upper part of the door body; a motor 4 for lifting the door body; and a centrifugal brake 5 for regulating the descending speed of the door body descending of its own weight. Particularly when the door body descends of its own weight, the load of the door body is transmitted to the centrifugal brake 5 from the chain through driving sprockets 38, 39, driven shafts 36, 37, a driving shaft and a plurality of gears, and rotary driving transmitted to the driving sprockets 38, 39 through the driven shafts 36, 37 is regulated to fixed speed or less by the centrifugal brake 5.
