摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an addition polymerization catalyst for manufacturing an addition polymer higher in molecular weight by polymerization accompanying addition polymerization particle formation, a method for manufacturing a particle for preparing the catalyst, and applications of the thus-prepared particle, and to provide a method for manufacturing the addition polymer higher in molecular weight by polymerization accompanying addition polymerization particle formation. SOLUTION: A particle is modified by a method wherein a matter wherein M<SP>1</SP>L<SP>1</SP><SB>3</SB>and R<SP>1</SP><SB>t-1</SB>TH are in contact with each other is brought into contact with R<SP>2</SP><SB>t-2</SB>TH<SB>2</SB>in the presence of the particle. The addition polymerization catalyst is prepared by bringing the modified particle (A), a transition metal compound (B), and an organic aluminum compound (C) into contact with each other.
