PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device which absorbs impact energy with the rotor of an electric motor for auxiliary steering and a frame. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device comprises an input shaft 1 connected to steering wheels A, an electric motor 2 for an auxiliary steering arranged coaxially with the input shaft 1, and an output shaft 3 to which the rotation force of the electric motor 2 is transmitted. The electric motor 2 is constituted of a rotor 21 having a first recessed part 21a and a second recessed part 21b for absorbing impact energy, which allow the input shaft 1 and the output shaft 3 to be movably fitted therein by the impact energy, and of a frame 22 plastically deformed in the axial direction of the input shaft 1 and the output shaft 3 by the impact energy applied to the shafts 1, 3.
