ANTI-LOCK BRAKE CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-lock brake control method capable of preventing prohibition of the anti-lock brake control or emission of a failure alarm due to a failure diagnosis during the off-road running and simplifying the anti-lock brake control during normal running. SOLUTION: The anti-lock brake control method includes an off-road discriminating means which discriminates whether the situation of the road surface is off-road condition and an anti-lock control method changeover means which works based upon the above discrimination and changes over the anti-lock brake control between the anti-lock control mode for normal running on a road surface having a large friction coefficient such as a pavement and the anti-lock control mode for off-road running on a road surface having a comparatively large surface unevenness and a small friction coefficient such as a dirt road.
